Wedding Wednesday | Step Back

It would be very interesting to see how many hours brides and grooms spend prepping for their wedding day.  I know I spent more than I could count for my own.  I can’t remember who said it, but Holly & I were given some great advice.  On our wedding day, we should stop for a minute and sit back so we can take it all in.  We spend so much preparing for the day and so much time trying to keep on schedule that we sometimes forget to look at it all.  My favorite thing is showing my couples photos of a moment they didn’t see.  But I really love seeing a bride or groom taking a moment at their own wedding.

Monica + Grayson | Wedding

Most of my weddings are in the Kansas City metro area, but Monica + Grayson’s wedding brought me out to Baldwin City, Kansas.  I was looking forward to their outdoor wedding in the countryside.  Well, I was not looking forward to how hot it was, but it is always worth it when the details are super haute.  From the well stocked sweet bar, game table (w/ kids activities, horseshoes, badminton & croquet), table with type writer to leave a message for Monica + Grayson, gift ‘bucket’ (not a table, but the bucket on a front end loading tractor) and all the little details around the reception site, it was beautiful.  I always love a good exit and my favorite is still sparklers.  I know Monica + Grayson loved their exit as well since they were heading off to Europe for two weeks.

Roslyn | 3 Months

I want my child to be as peaceful as Roslyn was at 3 months.  Never a peep until the end of the session and she needed a nap.  She is starting to smile and laugh.  Her eyes are so big & beautiful.  It is going to be a great sight to see her grow over the next year!

Rob Dyrdek

I was recently hired to shoot an event for Microsoft and was looking forward to working with them.  I later found out that  it was a signing event for Rob Dyrdeck, the pro skateboarder turned television star.  I was estatic when I found out I would be shooting in front of Dyrdeck as I faithfully watched Rob & Big and his newest show, The Fantasy Factory.  He has charm for days and is naturally a funny guy.  It was a grueling shoot as I had to take photos of him with 125 different fans in a hot room…but at least I sweated off a couple pounds ;)  I, of course, had to get a photo with him.

Big Cat from the Fantasy Factory made an appearance as well.

Kim + Mike | Engagement

Here are a couple photos from a session I did with Kim + Mike in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  The weather didn’t really co-operate with us that day, but they were only in town for a couple days before heading back to the East Coast.  We ended up having to run from overhang to overhang to get some dry shots ;)
